Have you ever felt that the church can be messy? Well, it can be, and it often is, but when we open some first century mail to Corinth from Paul, oh man, do we see a mess—they couldn’t even take the Lord’s supper together. Two words capture the problem: Identity Crisis. As former Gentiles, they were struggling to figure out this new life as the people of God and what it all meant. They were having an identity crisis because they had experienced an identity change through Jesus.
I would love for you to be our guest this Sunday morning at Pepperell Baptist when we dive into 1 Corinthians to better understand how to live out our new identity as the people of God.
